Linux365 mail can be accessed from any desktop mail client or mobile device. This is achieved using the Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP) and the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP). This article outlines how to setup your mail on a mail client, but does not distinguish it from any particular mail client. Currently, we recommend using Mozilla Thunderbird for desktop mail.


Before you begin you will need to know what your tenant URL is. If you do not know this, please see: What is my tenant URL? 

Note: that when using your tenant URL for mail purposes, you must not include https:// or http://


IMAP Details


Server: <your tenant url>

Port: 993

Security: SSL/TLS

Username: <your username for Linux365>

Password: <your password for Linux365>


SMTP Details


Server: <your tenant url>

Port: 587

Security: STARTTLS

Username: <your username for Linux365>

Password: <your password for Linux365>


Things to note:

  • When connecting to Linux365 for mail purposes, you must use the security methods listed above, otherwise, your connection will fail.
  • Post Office Protocol (POP) is not supported!
